Technology Institute for Developmental Educators

Now that the semester is over and summer is beginning, it is time to think of professional development.

Many of you have been wanting to integrate technology into your developmental classes or learning centers, but technology takes practice, time, and mentorship.  Rarely is there enough time in your workday or at a conference to expand your technology skills.  Attending technology workshops on your campus helps, but once you find time to begin your projects what you have learned is often gone.

During the week of July 22-27, 2012, Texas State University-San Marcos will host the 14th annual Technology Institute for Developmental Educators.  TIDE provides 5 days of mentoring, hands-on practice, and networking with developmental educators around Texas and the country to hone your technology expertise followed by a year of support to finish your projects.  Bring your technology projects to be mentored by David Arendale from the University of Minnesota, Dave Caverly from Texas State University-San Marcos, Lucy MacDonald from Chemeketa Community College, and Scott McDaniel from Middle Tennessee State.
