Call for Journal Associate Editors (3 positions)


Position begins: March 1, 2012

The Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) seeks experienced teacher educators with strong credentials and experience in scholarship, teaching and service to the SITE community to contribute as Associate Editors of the Journal of Technology and Teacher Education (JTATE). Nominations and applications for these two non-paying professional positions are requested starting March 1; the position, which will remain open until filled, will collaborate with the Editor and Associate Editor –in-

Chief to:
- Read and evaluate material submitted for publication consideration
- Contribute appropriately to all phases of journal publication
- Plan special themed issues, recruit guest editors and gather related material
- Seek authors to write articles, reports, editorials, reviews, and other materials
- Contribute to marketing and promotional efforts related to the journal
- Review and evaluate the publication process and journal quality and make recommendations for changes


Minimum Qualification Guidelines:


Doctoral degree in education with an emphasis in educational technology, curriculum and instruction, research methodologies, or a related field. Tenure-track professorship and accompanying experience teaching higher education courses. Publishing track record in peer-reviewed journals. Experience having been a reviewer on at least one comparable journal. Ability to work remotely. Ability to identify and employ new technology and to gauge current trends.


Technology: Requires knowledge of the Internet, e-mail, and working with PDFs in Adobe Acrobat. Requires strong knowledge of technology and its applications in a hands-on learning environment.


Experience using Web 2.0 or social media tools is desirable. Experience working as a volunteer in a professional association or society is a plus. Experience working as a volunteer in a key role for SITE, especially as a reviewer for JTATE is a plus.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Research skills: Knowledge and ability to use research and monitoring tools. The ability to read, analyze, interpret, and report about data.
